Quick Procreate Cartooning Tip - Adding A Character To A Background

Here’s a street scene that I want to add a couple of characters to.

And here are the characters. Now if I simply copy the canvas, then I end up with the characters on a white background.

Which means that if I then add this to the background scene, I have to then go through the hassle of erasing all of that white….which is a pain.

The quick way around this is to click on the layers button, scroll down to the bottom, and then uncheck the background colour box. You now have the characters on a transparent background, as seen above.

You can n0w copy canvas and then insert the characters onto the background scene without the need to do any erasing.

Hope that helps.

I’m not sure why I started to draw a wintry scene featuring a St. Bernard in June…
